LightsFest 15…

December 8, 2015

…the switch on that nearly wasn’t.

Gale force winds meant the cancellation of the annual switch of the West Didsbury lights around the Christmas Tree on Burton Road, on Saturday 5th December. BUT, the council still turned out to flick the switch so that West Didsbury was lit up and the Stretford Brass Band relocated to The Metropolitan.

Our independent businesses lit up their stars, which had been donated by The Metropolitan, from their recent Community Award, showing a real sense of community festive spirit.

On Saturday evening, which was very blustery, I did try to get all windows photographed but some weren’t possible on the evening – some restaurants had people dining in window seats, interiors were in darkness etc, so will keep adding festive images as I can get them. Apologies if any businesses are not included on montages below – am sure they will totally understand & not bat an eyelid. But just in case anyone does feel left out, will be rectified as soon as I can.

Happy Christmas!
