The Brownie Post

February 21, 2013

Not everyone is as lucky as us. We can smell the baking aromas drifting from And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon on a daily basis as we are literally on their doorstep. So, it’s no trouble for us if we fancy a brownie with our afternoon tea. However, if you live in Land’s End or John O’Groats or anywhere in between that isn’t Didsbury, we’ve always felt a bit sorry for you as you’re missing out. But no longer, as The Brownie Post has arrived!

An ingenious idea! Brownies, delivered direct to your door, wherever you live. So, even though we can see the shop, we were very excited to receive a package from And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon…

This was a beautifully packaged treat. But, as we all know, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so in the interests of providing feedback on the new venture, we tucked into The Brownie Post.

Twelve mouth-watering flavours are available, and most are also available as gluten-free. I think my brownie habits must be well known at And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon, as nestled inside the box were the king of brownies – salted caramel. Baked to perfection – gooey and crumbly and moist in all the right places – and with that delicious mix of sweet & a hint of salty savoury. Our box had a mix of regular brownies and gluten free and both were as deliciously moreish as the other.

The Brownie Post website states that these brownies-by-post can last up to five days. Yeah, right! If they are kept under lock and key perhaps, because once you start, you literally can’t stop! But, we do have it on very good authority that if stored in an airtight container, those of you with will-power can make them last a little bit longer than we did!
