If, like us, you’re a bit last minute with everything, you might just be starting to think about arranging something for Valentine’s Day. Well, there’s still plenty of time – it’s only early afternoon, for goodness – and with our round-up of what’s going on, you’ll be in the good books tonight…

If you’ve left booking a meal until now, we can’t guarantee you’ll get a table – however, we have some tempting menus and if you’re lucky you might just get squeezed in somewhere. If Afternoon Tea’s more your bag, check out And The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon. Although, we’re also a bit spoilt for choice if you fancy a bit of culinary DIY – Thyme Out Deli, A Taste of Honey, The Cheese Hamlet, Fusion Deli, Didsbury Deli…

However, it’s not just about eating out. Sian, at The Flower Lounge, is ready & waiting for you last-minuters – no need to rush off to your local garage! If it’s chocolates you’re after, look no further than Cocoa-Cabana – hand made, wholesome chocolates. And to accompany those chocolates, how about some fizz from Reserve Wines?

If you are off tonight and want to dress to impress, check out our lovely local fashion emporiums – Steranko and Bond. As an extra special treat – although this is where last minuters can sometime miss out as you’ll need to be VERY quick – if you book online TODAY at Macleod Bradley you’ll qualify for a whopping 50% discount! Call Evie’s Beauty Spa and get yourself booked in for a mini manicure or pedicure – for today only, just £15 each. For candles to create that romantic glow, or gifts to say how much you care, visit David Gavin Design and Frog Furniture.

Perhaps you fancy something a little bit different? How about a piece of artwork from the Wendy J Levy Gallery? Or, if you’d prefer a bit of live music, with your loved one, or friends, how about The Violet Hour? It’s acoustic night tonight, with Rootsman – who you may remember from WestFest a couple of years ago.

So, there you go – plenty of offerings from our Didsbury independents. And, you’ve still got lots of time to get in those good books…
