Goodbye 2012…

January 2, 2013

Yes, indeed, goodbye to 2012. The year that shall be remembered as one in which Burton Road seemed to be more closed than open. Sewerage works, burst pipes, environmental improvements. And a bomb scare…

But there were also good times. We welcomed new businesses – The Stove Room, Cocoa Cabana, Dhoop, The Violet Hour. There was a big refurb at the Co-op – big news if you’d experienced what it was like before! The sun also shone from time to time – and here’s the evidence…

The fourth WestFest came and went – another weekend when we hit really lucky once again with the weather. It was a packed weekend in West Didsbury as lots of people poured in to support our fab independents – who certainly know how to throw a party –

Before we knew it, it was Christmas – and this time Lady Luck didn’t shine on us in terms of the weather. When it came to the evening of LightsFest, the heavens opened – but that didn’t stop once again, people coming out to kick off the festive season –

And even the man in red put in an appearance…

So, now we look forward to 2013 – and hopefully with a road that is fully open, all year!
