Finally! We’ve Got A Didsbury Market Again…

October 23, 2012

For a variety of reasons, the Didsbury & West Didsbury Markets, run by Manchester Markets, never worked out. We always thought this was a real shame as most people seemed to want these markets. However, their demise and the subsequent decision by the organisers to pull the plug, meant that there was a gap to be filled. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy to get another organisation involved, but initial talks with the guys behind The Castlefield Market were really positive. Finding a location was a bit trickier – but after a meeting with Andy, manager at The Didsbury, it all clicked into place. Lots of red tape later, the licence was finally granted last week – and the new Didsbury Market, in association with The Castlefield Market, will start trading on Thursday 25th October 4.30pm – 8.30pm.

We’re really delighted about this development – late night shopping in the run up to Christmas and another opportunity to support independent traders. And if you’re not really sure what to expect, here’s a little taster for you…

The Thursday evening markets will be held in the front carpark of The Didsbury Pub (the rear car park will still be available for parking). If you make purchases at the market, you will also qualify for 25% discount off food orders at The Didsbury on market evenings.
