Wilmslow Artisan Market

September 18, 2012

Quick blog post tonight, just to share some of the scrumptious produce we picked up on Saturday from the Wilmslow Artisan Market. Wilmslow town centre was packed – maybe due to the presence of the market, maybe not, but shops and stalls seemed to be doing very brisk trade. A shame that Manchester Markets didn’t give the Didsbury & West Didsbury Markets a better crack at the whip. But maybe we can take a lead from other markets, who are doing it for themselves. Watch this space…

Like the Treacle Market in Macclesfield, the Wilmslow Market is big – but clearly well organised as there was no sense of too many of the same kind of stalls. And there was plenty of variety – from meat, breads, fish and sweet things to hand crafted gifts and accessories. I’d imagine this would be a great place to stock up at Christmas time if you want something a little bit different. Our visit was a bit whistle-stop, so food was the order of the day…
