Easter…

May 2, 2011

Well, we certainly can’t remember Easter being this extended before. But, we’re definitely not complaining. Easter was “late” this year – but combined with regular bank holidays and with  the added bonus of another thrown in for the Royal Wedding, it’s proved to be a much needed, and extended, Spring break. So, where did we begin our break?

It all started, seemingly way back, when we headed off to The Cornerhouse to see the opening of the Danny Cawley exhibition which was combined with guest appearances from Josephine, Jo from The Travelling Band & John Bramwell. An earlier blog details the evening…

We then had the second West Didsbury Market – a very lovely event on our own doorstep…

Easter Sunday was one of those days in Manchester when the sun shines and all is good. But we decided to risk it & head off north. To Durham. Where it’s often cold and windy – although always stunningly beautiful. However, this Easter, we had it all. Sun. Warmth. No traffic jams on the A1. Result all round!

We then had a blur of family parties followed by thewedding on Friday 29th. This was always going to be a difficult one. We’re not royalists, but we do like an occasion. And if that occasion combines something that is historical (whether you like it or not) with a group of great friends, on a bank holiday, in a fab place – well, you’d be mad to say “No”…

We’ve also managed to squeeze in a bit of gardening at Thyme Out –

Last part of our “holiday” was a jaunt into Manchester, in the spring sunshine. Beautiful…
