A Didsbury Life Christmas

Christmas in Didsbury

Christmas in Didsbury

For most of the year, we find that we’re operating at 100mph. Running Didsbury Life, a design agency [and chuck in a bit of full time teaching too], and it doesn’t leave much time for relaxation. However, one of the biggest advantages of being a teacher is the Christmas holiday. And, when you have Christmas falling on a weekend & therefore a double bonus of additional bank holidays, we decided that the best present we could give ourselves this year was relaxation – and catching up with family &  friends. So, it’s all been a bit quiet on the blogging, tweeting & the updating of Didsbury Life and WeAreLife front, but we’ve had a lovely time…

We’d like to say a very big thankyou to Blaggs DIY for their very kind Christmas present. It was a lovely surprise to arrive back from school to find a gorgeous 6′ tree, just waiting to be dressed – and taa-daa. Here it is –

Thank you Blaggs!

We had a lovely XmasWestFest, the weekend before Christmas. It was snowy and cold and that meant lots of mulled wine – as well as a great opportunity to do all of our Christmas shopping locally. It was fab to avoid places like The Trafford Centre and to start the holiday in a very relaxed way. We also spent a great evening at Silver Apples with lovely friends seeing The Gypsies of Bohemia – we keep saying, if you’ve not seen them before, you MUST check them out. Amazing!

Car problems meant a quick pre-Xmas trip over to Formby to do a bit of car swapping before the annual cross-country trek. But, it gave us the opportunity to get some very wintry, and exceptionally Christmassy, shots…

We headed off to the North East & Formby for Christmas – a two year old nephew, deep snow, family & fine food made the journey on the hideous A1 worth it. Plus, an amazing sunset…

The Didsbury Bop Local and a bit of a do here, with those friends we don’t see enough of, has made this week very lovely. Plus, not being at either job. We think we’ve finally realised what relaxing is – and we like it! We think we’re going to do a little bit more of it in 2011. But, before that we have another party tomorrow with great friends and the added bonus of another one of those lovely extended bank holiday weekends…

Happy New Year!
