A Few Nice Things…

February 19, 2010

It’s always good to end the week on a positive, so I’ve been thinking about nice things that have happened this week, that have either made us smile, feel happy or inspired us. In no particular order…

  • Catching up with Thea & Fallon – from small conversations grow big visions…
  • Being brave enough to state that we only want to work with people who have ethics and always try to consider others – hello, amongst others, Matt B-P, Urban Deva, Helen B, Chris B, & Sian. Over the course of just one week, we’ve connected, reconnected & discovered some very lovely people. [There’s always a flip side – but I’m biding my time on that particular blog…]
  • Spicy meat balls at Folk – created by Sonia who’s one fabulous chef! [And to those of you know us & have had to think about veggie options when we’ve come to your house – I promise you, there was no meat involved.  Honest…]
  • The irony of our local MP, who attended [at his instigation] a meeting with West Didsbury traders, concerned about the proposed Residents’ Parking scheme, parking his car, right outside our house. He’s not a resident. He didn’t  have the courtesy to acknowledge us. His party’s current newsletter is a wonderful example of how petty local politics can be. If you know West Didsbury, guess which way I’ll not be voting.
  • Finding out where Helen Bradley’s suede boots are from – I’m having a pair!
  • Lunch with Sian from The Flower Lounge – thankyou!
  • Our design site – – coming together
  • My nephew, aged 15 months, saying my name clearly on the phone and developing lovely curls in his hair!
  • If you saw “Shrink Wrapped” with Heather Mills – this certainly made us laugh at times, although largely cringe. Thanks to Moregeous for heads up on this one…
  • Back to Lib Dems I’m afraid – if you are lucky enough to receive “Focus” [although if ever an oxymoron was in evidence…], see if it you makes you smile too. Photo-opportunity-tastic…
  • And, last but not least, final of “Soapstar to Operastar” still to come – although I think Marcella was robbed!
